Movies Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 This is another Guardians of the Galaxy movie. This isn't a Oscar winning movie for the acting, but was never meant to be. The music has always been good and the story giving some additional insight into those stories and characters that we love.
Movies Air This was a great story. Having known of MJs deal with Nike, I had no idea where Nike was or what the other bids were. It is amazing what an honest assessment and doing what is right for the people you are working with can do for them and the industry.
Books Crack99 In this book you follow the investigation from David Hall and his team as they navigate the first real case of cyber theft. David does a great job of taking what could be a VERY technical and legalese filled book and breaking down each portion to make it digestible to the everyday reader.
Books Operation Paperclip Hear the story of the inevitable desire and need to take on the worst of human beings to support the "Continued security of United States."
Movies Boston Strangler This was an interesting movie. I really enjoy true crime stories, and this is a solid one. Kira Knightly does an amazing job being American and honestly I could completely forget she was British so well done ma’am.
TV MH370 The Lost Flight While I typically try and be fair/easy of movies/tv shows, that will not happen with this one. Conspiracy theory central. This entire show is 100% a cash grab or "LOOK AT ME" by Jeff Wise. He is an aviation reporter and basically the entire show is him making the most outrageous theories possible.
Books Power Moves Adam Grant has some great interviews that tell of really interesting changes in the dynamics of power. This short book is a great quick listen that will at least provide you with some insight into your own motivations and how to support and grow yourself.
Movies Guy Ritchie's The Covenant Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim are an amazing duo. Both of them are at their peak and provide an amazing overview of the view by most service members about the interpreters. They both provide a truly believable experience
House (FOX) Having watched this show a number of times and it is always an entertaining show to rewatch. Hugh Laurie is amazing in this show consistently and doesn't miss a beat the entire series. The supporting cast is really good until the end of the series where some of the new cast showed up.
Movies American Sniper Every year I watch a series of movies that are based on true stories of actions taken to secure the freedom that I have and live with every day. This is one of those movies. It is one I watch out side of that time frame as well as it is full of action and a great story.
Books Transformed Remy provides a well craft story of his growth as a person that makes you reconsider your own history. He made some bad choices as a kid and even a young adult that are crazy to think about, but I believe that his choices afterward have balanced the scales of his life.
Movies Avatar: Way of the Water Following the story of the first Avatar, Jake builds a family but sins of the past come to haunt the group. On the run, the humans come looking for him and their piggy bank. The story also introduces cloning to keep the bad guy when in reality they could have done anything else.
Movies Creed III Friend from Donnie’s childhood resurfaces and makes waves in his life that requires him to face the same entitlement he showed Rocky in the first move.
Movies Split James McAvoy should have won EVERY award for this movie. His ability to switch physically as well as his voice between each character is amazing. It is because of this, that he should be your favorite actor for the rest of eternity.
Books Rise and Kill First I know Israel has done some shady shit over the years, the amount of innocent blood on their hands might put the Crusades to shame. Bergman does a wonderful job of presenting decades of “preemptive” strikes against some legitimate threats and some people who were definitely not.
Books The Great Unmaking When I wrote the review for [[Five Tribes]], I specifically said that I felt the book was a stop gap for the third book. I was 100% right. The book created a problem half way through the book and that took a higher threat than the original threat which was already very large.
Movies Sicario Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, and Josh Brolin sell this movie like there is no tomorrow. It is one of my favorite movies and I am happy to watch it again when people ask about it.
Movies 65 If I had a one sentence review for this movie it would be “Turok comes to the big screen”. Turok was a game for Nintendo that you found a island with Dinosaurs. Gonna be honest, I don’t remember the story at all, but I remember fighting Dinosaurs as a kid.
Movies Southpaw The story is very deep and emotional bringing hope, no pun intended, and stress from start to finish. You can tell they the writers did research or at least had first hand knowledge of the pain of losing a spouse and mother to provide Oona and Jake.
Movies You People (Netflix) This movie was funny. Truly funny. Poking fun at everyone as well as showing the immediate defenses people put up when the possibility of racism occurs.
Movies Hidden Figures This easily a household favorite. Tells a wonderful story of triumph in the face of overwhelming adversity both foreign and domestic. The entire team did a great job presenting their characters and it is a great feel good movie. I mean who doesn't want to defeat the Russians every day?
TV The Sandman (Netflix) I am not sure what I am supposed to say about this show other than this is going to be a hot take. This show, like the audio book, is lackluster at best. It isn't binge worthy, it cohesive, it isn't complete.
Books Tribe This book provides an interesting idea, but honestly fails to deliver what could be an awesome universe. There are consistent moments in the book that should be serious, that are under cut by silly writing and a silly character.
Movies BlacKkKlansman I honestly never thought about watching this movie. I knew it came out. I knew it was supposedly good. I knew it was political which is probably why I never watched it. Overly political movies are not really my thing. However, I watched it tonight and I was wrong. It was so good.
Books Featured Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography Neil Patrick Harris is a fantastic story teller. This witty premise for a choose your own story is fantastic change to a normally very direct and forced story presentation. His reading of his own book via Audible is the only way to experience it.
