Kandahar

I know that I originally thought that this was going to be a closer plot to The Covenant, but I was so wrong. While yes it is about the translator and their ability to know the area, but nothing close to same depth of that story.

Review

I know that I originally thought that this was going to be a closer plot to The Covenant, but I was so wrong. While yes it is about the translator and their ability to know the area, but nothing close to same depth of that story.

This story has some really low points and really bad inaccuracies as far as legitimacy. That aside, its entertaining. Gerard Butler again, having watched this just before Olympus Has Fallen, does a fantastic job and you can see the work he put into this role. Farhad Bagheri is an amazing Iranian actor and should be praised for the work that he put into his role. His emotional out burst and devout actions really show some massive depth to his skills that should not be ignored.

The fight scenes were really good, love the explosions and gun fights. Those I felt were decently accurate for this lower budget movie.

The main inaccuracies come from the characters knowing where to go, their evasion techniques, and subsequent trade craft.

My Rating

It was entertaining. I enjoyed watching it, but it wasn't the best. I think that is more to the writing and not the acting, as the 2 main people I felt were fantastic. The big bad was half assed which again I feel is because writing. Its a 5. As a note, my wife gives it a 7.

Parental Rating

Umm language is more reactive rather than straight up just used because they can. There isn't a lot of gore and there is really a good story to this. I think both are in for this.
