Transformers: Rise of the Beast

Synopsis

A planet size alien needs a key that can open a portal through space and time. The Maximals used it when attacked to escape to earth where they team up with the Autobots to stop the Living Planet.

Review

I thought this was going to be on the same level as the newer ones and while those are bad, this one somehow manages to dig itself lower. The voice acting is probably the best thing, where the writing basically written by a 6 year old telling you a story.

I know that I am being hard on this movie, but it absolutely deserves it. Let me point out some of the plot holes and saved because plot moments in this movie. So Optimus fights the non-planet villain named "Scourge." The first time, he gets worked by the underlings and when Scourge came into the fight he just decimated the Autobots. Then later in the movie, it is a fair fight or even leaning toward the Autobots when nothing of value allowed them to be better.

Then we can talk about the main human getting a suit the defies gravity and gives him the ability to hold 3 tons of metal that is being pulled into a black hole basically without issue and all by himself. Also the armor looks like the armor from Spy Kids.

My Rating

The voice acting was the only reason to watch this. The movie itself is pointless in the Transformers Universe and the writing was terrible. The critics gave it a 6 and audiences seem to love it, but I think the critics are more right than the audience this time. The fight scenes were cool, but not cool enough to make it a good movie like Kong v. Godzilla. Its a 6. Watch it on an airplane.

Parental Rating

No blood, language, gore, sex, or anything else. The story is pointless and has no real moral or uplifting moments so I am going to say that mom disapproves. Dad would watch it, but not truly enjoy it so I am going to say approved.
