Review

This is a great movie, it is as simple as that. This was an amazing summer movie that you should have seen in theaters and if not, enjoy it with some surround sound.

Tom Cruise and Miles Teller are an amazing duo to work together. Miles' career has been up and down, but this is a true triumph for him. Both of them fall right into their characters so well that I never had a problem with seeing them "Out of Character."

Tom also has a history of making sure the craft of his movies is top notch and accurate which you can see in the dog fights and training. If you have seen any of the BTS, you know that the scenes are from actual planes and so that adds to this realism that you miss in a lot of movies these days.

As for the story, it is an 80s action film story because there is a mysterious bad guy that is threating the American mindset. Nothing crazy and honestly the ambiguity of the bad guy means that you can slide anyone in and the story still works.

My Rating

We've watched this movie a few times since its release and we always enjoy it. It is a solid action pack movie that hits you in the feels at times. It is a 9 for sure.

Parental Rating

This is a win win for both of them. The whole movie is about supporting each other and saving each other. Language is light, sex is implied, and there is no gore. Approved by both.
