Last Holiday

Synopsis

When learning that she has only a couple weeks left to live, she decides to live her dreams in a hotel with one of her favorite chefs.

Review

So this is a barely better than Hallmark movie. The only real difference is that Queen Latifah doesn't go home to marry the city tree grower.

I will say that the entire movie revolves around Queen Latifa and does a great job of playing a character starting a new life. However, I never once feel that she has a terminal illness. I know that grieving is an individual's experience, but other than the 5 times she "yells" at God, she just plays someone who is out to spend her money be honest with people.

The scenery is beautiful and the story is believable for the most part. A serial saver makes the decision to take advantage of a short time to fill her dreams.

My Rating

There really isn't much to say about this movie. Its cute, tells a good story. Great family movie, however it is highly predictable and nothing special. Its a 6.

Parental Rating

My mom likes this movie. Its a great family story with a happy ending. A somewhat better Hallmark movie. Dad on the other hand doesn't think Queen Latifah is a good actress. However, based on the rules he approves. So approval by both.
