The Actual Review

Game time = 11 Hours at time of review

Gameplay

Its fun to play running around and just shooting these bugs and robots and the stress as the forces just get ever more aggressive and more numerous. The level up mechanics and different weapons/stratagems are a really nice and fun to play with.

What makes the gameplay super annoying is the devs making changes. While I understand there was a time where people would kick people for not using the meta, that doesn't mean to adjust the weapons so harshly in a PvE game. There is no need for balance unless it is one-shotting the big baddies.

There are also some really cool environmental elements in this game based on the planet you are on. Sometimes an earthquake slows you down, other times a firestorm comes around, just different things like that. Super cool.

Graphics and Sound

The sound is almost identical to Starship Troopers which was the intent so bravo. The worlds no matter if they are big or small, just bring you in for a big hug and you want to spend the time looking around. Not that you'll have the ability.

Story and Characters

Other than a cutscene for the ad, there is no character other than yourself Helldiver. The story is ever changing because of the game master and that is kinda cool. That kind of story change is what live service updates should be.

My Rating

I enjoy the game... when I play with friends. There isn't any real entertainment for me without having someone to goof off with in the game and just struggle together. Its fun, but I won't play it by myself. It's Not my Cup of Tea.

Parental Rating

My mom is going to say it is kind of gross, but nothing about it is over the top. Violent for sure, but no human blood is being spilled so it is ok.
