Gran Turismo

Since this based on a true story I was really quite surprised at the presence of the story. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was an entertaining movie set in the modern day that anyone could enjoy no matter your background of enjoyment of racing or video games.

Gran Turismo

Synopsis

Imagine you are really good at flying a plane on the computer. Then you are sitting on a plane and they need a pilot so you volunteer and safely fly the plane. That is basically it with racing simulators.

Review

Since this based on a true story I was really quite surprised at the presence of the story. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was an entertaining movie set in the modern day that anyone could enjoy no matter your background of enjoyment of racing or video games.

I am not a big fan of Archie Madekwe mainly because I first saw him in [[See]] and just felt like he was stupid, entitled, and whiney, but he does a decent job in this movie. I still don't like his facial reactions during some scenes, but he can't honestly help that too much.

David Harbour is the standout performance on this one. You can 100% believe that he doesn't believe in the kids in the beginning and seeing his shift to concern is believable.

My Rating

I was entertained by this movie. I have never enjoyed the Gran Turismo games, but I do really like those cars so it was fun to watch. Had no problem believing the conversations where accurate and seeing the actor and the real life person next to each other was really cool to see how close they look to each other.

Parental Rating

So I think my Mom would enjoy this movie. It is about family coming together over disagreements and still supporting each other. The language is limited with a couple "F" bombs if I remember correctly, but I never felt they were out of place or said just because. Approved by both.
