Crimson Tide

First off, what a great cast. I mean it was 1995 and a lot of these people were either in their prime or just starting their careers and I don't remember it being talked about a lot. Some where not as strong as others, but when you are surrounded by heavy hitters, someone isn't going to shine.

Review

I have seen bits and pieces of this movie over the years and until I was on this flight have I ever watched the entire thing. I was really surprised with the movie.

First off, what a great cast. I mean it was 1995 and a lot of these people were either in their prime or just starting their careers and I don't remember it being talked about a lot. There isn't a person there that I don't feel did a poor job in their role. Some where not as strong as others, but when you are surrounded by heavy hitters, someone isn't going to shine.

The setting was really good. A singular ship that I feel might have been too big, but I have never been on a sub other than a random tour so it might have been fine. Denzel is able to run on the sub and that seems silly, but the more I think about it, it is 100% something I have seen officers do so sure. Why not. Also, they were able to build a lot of tension in such a small space as you can just feel the closeness and lack of space in these scenes.

The overall story was highly plausible, see current state of the world in 2022/2023 RU vs. UA.

My Rating

Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised. I was really invested and honestly wanted to finish the movie before I landed as I just enjoyed it. I was finishing the movie as we were taxiing into the gate. The acting was great, story was involved, and just really was entertained.

Parental Rating

My dad is so down to watch this. The language is light, I mean it was the 95, and the drama is military related. What Dad doesn't like that? My mom is out though. This isn't her thing and doesn't have any family involvement.
