The Book in 1 Sentence
Nazi's are working with new technology to continue to make the "Single greatest race in the world."
The Sigma team books in general follow the same pattern and this one is kind of funny that it references Zero point energy (ZPE) which I recently learned about in Unacknowledged. The story overall does a great job of working through all the items that it introduces.
Why I Read this book
I am enjoying the series.
So the story overall is for sure something that I could see Nazi's doing again and again, hiding in the background and attempting to still create their Uber men. God men. Honestly I think that is probably my favorite part of this series is the introduction of science and myth as the same thing, but is just lost to history.
Overall the characters that have been part of the series are still growing and that is really nice to see from book to book. This one is no different, with bits of learning from part to part and book to book. It is some of the new characters that kind of annoy me and that is fairly typical of books like this for me where they ham fist new people to fit the actions they need. Just they are so heavy handed and play a bit of Deus Ex Machina and I generally just don't like in most things.
Overall I enjoy this series. I like the idea of action scientist. I think it could make for a great series, the issue being the same issue as high fantasy is trying to introduce too much science/fantasy can create additional confusion for the watcher which is why these make great books. This one in particular is a 7. I find a lot of coincidence just frustrating and simple in writing.
