Review

This movie was SUPER weird and really interesting. It is not very often that I can't put the pieces together of a movie pretty early on, but I was probably 3/4 of the way through before I figured out the ending. The acting was fantastic with Ralph Fiennes doing an amazing job of playing his character, "The Chef."

This movie slid under the radar for most people I think, but it is a solid thriller movie with exceptional twist. I know someone said the movie was "banal" in the reviews on IMDB, but they missed a point and might be closer to Nicholas Hoult's character as far as personality.

Looking at IMDB, this movie does have a "comedy" tag to it and there are some parts that are super dark that I laughed at and my wife just looked at me so that might be in the eyes of the beholder, but overall there are some intentional jokes about the dinning industry that are pretty quick witted.

Overall, I highly recommend that you watch this movie. It is a solid 8 for stellar small acting, my word for acting with small nuances to the character, as well as great twist that most people won't see coming.

Parental Rating

My dad would watch this, a couple choice words, but nothing crazy that you won't hear at the local grocery store on a Saturday afternoon. My mom, would probably watch it, but leave pretty quickly. "Not her thing" would be the work choice she would use.
